From the dusty shelves of village libraries to the shiny covers I hold today, my reading journey has always been about adventure, friendship, and discovery.
As a child, I was obsessed with Sinhala youth novels අඹ යහළුවෝ by W.B. Ilangaratne, තුන් යහළු වික්රමය by Kulasena Fonseka, පාලු දුපත by A.J. Rajasumana, and රණරාළ by G.B. Senanayake. These weren’t just books they were gateways into worlds of treasure hunts, deserted islands, loyal friendships, and heroic battles.
"The thrill of turning those pages late at night, diving into worlds of adventure and loyalty, was simply unmatched."
So when it came to reading, I had the freedom to buy and enjoy every Sinhala adventure novel that caught my eye from අඹ යහළුවෝ to රණරාළ. My childhood was awesome, filled with stories, music, and technology.
Fast forward to today: I’ve repurchased brand new editions of every book I loved in childhood. Holding them again feels like meeting old friends the same stories, but with the wisdom of years layered on top. These books shaped my imagination, taught me loyalty, courage, and curiosity. They are more than stories; they are part of my identity.
